The forests of the Middle Atlas, covering an area of 1 million hectares, have always been a strategic issue for Morocco, in economic, environmental and socio-economic terms. These ecosystems are subjected to strong multifaceted pressures, leading to a regressive evolution and an imbalance of the rural societies which live there. Appropriate management becomes a necessity to manage wooded resources responsibly. With a view to responding to a major concern of understanding and analyzing the evolution of forest cover, the present study proposed to use the forest data developed within the framework of the forest cartography of the IFN to evaluate the process of analysis of forest evolution and to propose an appropriate approach to apprehend the monitoring of the forest cover. of the Middle Atlas by adopting the analysis used by the HCEFLCD based on the comparison of areas obtained in two production dates (1986 and 2010) of the 19 map sheets covering the Middle Atlas and the analysis by spatial adjustment of changes in cover forest manager before proceeding with the generation of land use areas
